How To Access The DD Forum (last processed 11/22/09)

As a new user to WTATA, you must complete some simple, yet necessary steps in order to view our coveted DD forum.

1) You must register an account, as always.
2) You must post at least 5 meaningful and worthwhile posts. Caution: Your posts will be personally reviewed by the site administrator.
3) You then finally have to request accesss via the Usergroup panel. You can do that by clicking here.

It takes between 2 hours and 7 days for me to process DD requests. As in, I do it about once a week. If you happen to request access immediately after I process other DD's, then unfortunately you will most likely have to wait a week for the next round. If you happen to sneak in right before I do them then you lucked out. Smile

Last round was processed: 11/22/09.

The best way to be approved is to browse the 10 Recommended Threads (located at the top of the forum index) and read the individual posts. This should give you a good idea of what we're after. You may post in those threads.

And finally, above all else, bear this in mind: We take the initial five posts very seriously. Crappy initial posts or spam will not only result in your DD denial, but possibly in being banned from the site.

Also, think about this:

Ever seen the movie Office Space with Ron Livingston and Jennifer Aniston?

You remember that scene where Aniston's character works at that restaurant and they make a big deal about the number of pieces of "flair" she wears? And she wears the minimum and although the minimum is indeed the minimum that's not really good enough? Her manager wants her to wear more. Replace "flair" with "posts" and keep that in mind. People that only do the minimum aren't really worthy people are they?

My concern is the same as Mira's...This might turn out to be alot of work for you.

I think it's a good idea though.

I really think this is a great idea. It's terrible when people spam and spam and spam, and then abuse the wonderful things given to them. You guys spend a lot of time keeping this running, and we all really appreciate it. ( Well, with the exception of people like "goddavid22" ) and I think that you guys initiating this will keep the community clean and really weed out the true Whose Line fans from those wanna be's.

So props to you two!

wanna be's? wtf? theres nothing worse than elitist internet nerds... especially when you consider those 'true' fans likely have most, if not all, the episodes downloaded illegally on their computers.

Well, I only find the "illegal" way to be my only way to see Whose Line's as I live in a barren country of Finland where everything arrives at least five years late. (except for mobilephones which we make ourselves) So I've started thinking sharing through internet as an opportunity, and according to our law it's not illegal until you try to profit from it. Don't know if it's illegal in somewhere else just to have files on your computer, but I would find it silly.

I agree that 5 posts is a minium to keep leechers at bay and be certain of new peoples aspects. That said, I keep on trolling for more posting opportunities. Wink

It's a great idea. I wouldn't post on a forum which has downloads as a main attraction unless i had to. Buuuut, and here is the but, i am enjoying this board, even though i have posted 5....after this 6. I think that having a meaningfull post count before access to the downloads is very important...they don't just let you into the masons...
